Elderly widower is reunited with wife's stolen jewellery

Police ask for help locating other victims of theft

Police say they've been able to reunite an 83-year-old man with some of his late wife's jewellery which was stolen by a thief.

Officers say they've managed to trace and recover some of the items which were taken but believe there are pieces which are still outstanding.

The thief reportedly stole sentimental, and high value, coins and jewellery from his friends before selling them on the Island for cash.

Police say during their investigation they've found some of the items which were stolen have not been noticed as missing by their owners.

Officers are also searching for a 'distinctive' ring – described as platinum with a large single diamond – which is valued at around £2,700.

Detective Constable Lewis Cassidy is leading the investigation:

Anyone who has concerns that their items are missing – or who has bought items like this recently – is asked to contact Police Headquarters on 631212.
