Election committee outlines plan

First evidence taken next Friday

A select committee charged with looking at the organisation and running of the last Manx general election has outlined who it will hear from.

Two days of evidence are planned - Friday, 9 December and Thursday, 12 January - both starting at 10.30am.

At the first session evidence will be given by Captain of the Parish of Onchan Peter Kelly, and election candidates Tim Baker MHK, Andrew Barton and Steve Crowther.

In January, the committee will hear from Ramsey Town Commissioners' chairman, Andy Cowie, and its clerk, Peter Whiteway, Douglas Borough Council Assistant Town Clerk Paul Cowin, Speaker of the House of Keys Juan Watterson, Louise Whitelegg and Isle of Man Law Society CEO Juan Moore.

Also giving evidence that day are the government's chief secretary, Will Greenhow, Director of External Relations Della Fletcher and Senior External Relations Officer Kirsty Hemsley.

The sessions will take place in the Legislative Council Chamber.

Members of the public are welcome to attend.

You'll also be able to listen via the audio webcast service on the Tynwald website.
