Could be last chance to register before next by-election
Today’s your last chance to get on the electoral register in time for local authority by-elections sparked by changes to the voters’ list.
The next quarterly update of the register will be effective from October 1 – but if you haven’t returned your form by the end of today, you won’t be on it.
A number of councillors and commissioners had to step down earlier this year when they discovered their names weren’t on the register, sounding the start of by-election campaigns in a number of Island local authorities.
And with the resignation of Brenda Cannell MHK, the Cabinet Office says this may be your last chance to register before a by-election in that constituency.
