Enterprise minister speaks after latest meeting on impact of prom works
The enterprise minister says the cross-government approach to tackling the impact of ongoing regeneration works on Douglas Promenade is 'unique'.
Laurence Skelly was speaking to Manx Radio after yesterday's meeting of the Environment and Infrastructure Policy Review Committee, which was hearing from members of his department.
During the discussion, it was announced that 'emergency measures' will be offered to businesses on Douglas Promenade which have been adversely affected by the works.
As well as infrastructure and enterprise, treasury is also to be involved in the project.
Mr Skelly thinks it's unusual to see government respond in this way - because it's an unusual problem:
Bus drivers to hold off taking industrial action while talks continue
Regulation of Health and Social Care Bill pushed back to 2027
Manx patients will be contacted if appointments are impacted by UK strikes
Patient taken to hospital after medical emergency on board Manxman
