Emergency service issue warning over 'questionable' heating methods

UK residents have been seen leaving hobs on unattended

The Fire and Rescue Service has issued a warning with concerns residents are putting themselves and homes at risk of fire by using unconventional methods of staying warm.

Emergency services in the UK attended incidents which have seen hobs left on unattended.

They say they fully appreciate people are trying to find cheaper ways to heat their homes given rising energy prices, but stress these methods are 'extremely dangerous'.

Those with vulnerable neighbours are being asked to keep an eye on, and nominate them for a safety visit.
