Ensuring airlines are serving our Island in the 'national interest'

Infrastructure Minister reacts to Flybe decision

The Director of the Isle of Man Airport was given "less than an hour's notice" that Flybe was withdrawing its Isle of Man service before passengers received emails informing them of the move.

That's according to Chris Thomas MHK, who says he heard the news via Manx Radio before finding an email informing him of the move.

He says he is "hugely disappointed" regarding the news and reiterated his apologies to those affected after the airline cancelled its winter flights to and from the Island.

Going forward, the Isle of Man Government may need to check airlines have the correct infrastructure in place to prevent similar issues in the future.
