Exit polls show three ministers could lose their seats

Baker, Cregeen and Boot fail to top the polls

Exit polls are suggesting that three government ministers may have lost their seats in the House of Keys General Election.

More than 100 students from Island secondary schools have been polling voters in all 12 constituencies throughout the day.

Initial findings show that Infrastructure Minister Tim Baker could miss out in Ayre and Michael.

There Alfred Cannan topped the poll with 31 per cent of the vote followed by Tim Johnston with 28 per cent.

No other candidates received over 11 per cent of the vote.

In Arbory, Castletown and Malew Home Affairs Minister Graham Cregeen looks to be at risk of ending his tenure as an MHK.

Jason Moorhouse and Tim Glover have topped the exit polls there with 33 per cent and 30 per cent of the vote respectively.

The exit poll from Glenfaba and Peel shows Environment, Food and Agriculture Minister Geoffrey Boot losing his seat to fellow Tynwald member Kate Lord-Brennan MLC.

She got 37.5 per cent of the vote followed by second place Ray Harmer who took 17.5 per cent.

Mr Boot, the exit polls suggest, is trailing behind with under seven per cent of voters showing him their support.

The exit polls were conducted for Manx Radio by Paul Craine who shared the results live:
