
The editor of Isle of Man Newspapers says a price hike on the Examiner is down to falling advertising revenues and the internet.
Richard Butt says plans to take on unpaid writers and publish the tabloid on Tuesday instead of Monday will help create a better newspaper.
But he says the newspapers’ website simply can’t compete with the likes of the BBC, and people wouldn’t pay to use it.
Mr Butt says charging more for the Examiner was a difficult choice to make:
