The Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service says an emergency at a fuel facility at Douglas Harbour turned out to be a false alarm.
Shortly before 1pm, five units from Douglas station rushed to the Manx Petroleums facility on Battery Pier.
However, when crews arrived they found a faulty detector had been responsible for the call.
A spokesman for the fire service says although it was a false alarm, it was a good test of the emergency procedures put in place.
