Government working on licensing framework
A farmer who's calling for government to allow hemp to be grown on Island says he hopes to sow a 'test' crop next year.
Bob Comish is from the Manx Medicinal Cannabis and Hemp Association.
He's waiting for the Department for Enterprise to set up a licensing framework for hemp growing.
Government held a consultation on the issue three years ago, in which 97% of respondents support the introduction of regulation to govern the production of hemp.
Mr Comish, who is ready to plant at six farms across the Island, says he's got his fingers crossed for an announcement before Christimas:
