Fatal crash in St John's

Police appeal for witnesses

Another visiting motorcyclist has died on the Isle of Man's roads this TT.

Police have confirmed a crash in the west of the Island on Friday afternoon was a fatal one.

It happened on the Peel to Douglas Road, between Tynwald Hill and Ballaleece Bridge, St John's, at about 4.50pm.

A Triumph motorcycle travelling from Peel towards Douglas was involved in a collision with a Suzuki motorcycle travelling in the opposite direction.

The rider of the Triumph, a 67-year-old man from Hull, was treated for his injuries by the public, police and paramedics at the scene, but was pronounced dead on his arrival at Noble's hospital.

The rider and pillion passenger, a man and a woman from Liverpool, were also treated for their injuries at the scene and taken to hospital, where they remain for treatment.

The road was closed for several hours, while investigations were carried out.
