Negotiations ongoing with other bidders
Douglas Council says negotiations are ongoing with a potential buyer for the Lord Street flats.
A freedom of information reply from the authority says its preferred bidder withdrew its offer late last year.
Following the development of replacement flats near to the Brown Bobby petrol station, the flats were emptied and put up for sale in late 2024.
A closed bid process selected a highest bidder, and the sale was announced in February 2025.
However, that buyer withdrew on 23 December 2025.
In its FoI response, the Council said: "Since that time, negotiations with a potential buyer from the original procurement process are progressing."
It has not revealed any details on the possible buyers or the valuations on the flats, saying this is commercially sensitive.
