Officers from Ramsey Station work to bring blaze under control

Fire crews from Ramsey Station were called out in the early hours of the morning to tackle a large wildfire.

The call came in shortly before 1:30am, with firefighters working for around 90 minutes to bring it under control and make the area safe.

With hot, dry weather forecast, the risk of wildfires is high across the Island.

The fire and rescue service is asking everyone to do their bit to prevent fires and protect our beautiful countryside.
