Property became heavily smoke logged
Officers found the property heavily smoke logged with no obvious fire.
Crews wearing breathing apparatus entered the property to isolate the services and investigate.
Once the smoke cleared officers say it became apparent that an item had been left on a hob which they believe may have been switched on by a 'wandering house cat.'
In a statement, the Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service says 'Thankfully the damage was minimal as the fire had burnt itself out.'
'As an aside note, due to the roads being closed at the time of the incident it was very difficult for crews to make progress to the scene. We would like to remind drivers not to panic when they see and hear our vehicles approaching and to pull over in a safe position.'
