Royal visitor shows keen interest in high tech success story
The general manager of the high tech firm in Onchan inspected by the Princess Royal today (21 July) says she showed a keen interest in the business and its products.
Chris Allan conducted Princess Anne around the Triumph Actuation Systems' base, on her first port of call in the Island this morning.
She arrived by helicopter in Noble's Park where she was met by the Lieutenant Governor before heading to the plant in School Road.
Mr Allan says the Princess was keen to find out about the firm's 50 year presence in the Isle of Man, currently manufacturing components for aircraft landing gear.
He said some of her queries were detailed enough to cause staff to think very carefully before replying - and she posed some probing questions:
Candidates could need to declare interests to stand in 2026 General Election
Customs and Excise office to relocate
Douglas man convicted in Island's 'most complex child abuse image investigation'
Temporary lights installed on Douglas promenade
