Minister questioned on Daily Mile initiative
An initiative to encourage daily exercise will not be made compulsory in Island schools.
The Daily Mile was designed to get children taking part in a 15 minute walk or run with their teacher - but only three schools have adopted the policy.
Education Chief Graham Cregeen was questioned on the scheme by Onchan member Julie Edge in the House of Keys earlier.
Mr Cregeen said whilst other school classes were trialling the Daily Mile - he felt it was better to keep other options open rather than roll it out universally:
