Five further Covid-related deaths

Total since start of pandemic rises to 98

There have been a further five Covid-19 related deaths confirmed on the Isle of Man over the last week.

The death toll since the start of the pandemic, as shown in the latest weekly Public Health report, has risen to 98.

For the first time, the surveillance report shows a breakdown of places of death, with more than half of Covid deaths on Island since the start of the pandemic having occurred in hospital.

Thirty seven have been at residential homes, three at Hospice and nine in domestic properties.

Meanwhile, the infection rate on the Isle of Man has fallen over the last week, with an average of 89 new cases reported.

However, the Island currently has the third highest infection rate of any local authority in the British Isles.

When the report was compiled, 17 people were in hospital with Covid.
