It's important to make sure work is effective, says chief minister
Flood defences have to be right, and can't be rushed.
That's the message from the chief minister following the announcement that £60m has been put aside to reduce flooding risk across the Island.
An area of Ramsey has been assessed as the most at-risk, with work expected to get underway next year.
However, Howard Quayle says it's important to make sure it's effective:
Isle of Man population edges upward to 84,975 as migration drives growth
More services to be temporarily relocated from Ramsey and District Cottage Hospital
Friday evening sailings subject to possible disruption or cancellation
