Baker explains response to ARUP report in Tynwald
The chairman of Manx Utilities admits the way government addresses flood risk on the Island needs to 'hugely improve'.
In Tynwald today (16 June) Tim Baker confirmed MU continues to follow its own risk management plan, but will support the conclusions of an independent report into the Laxey floods.
Mr Baker, who's also the Infrastructure Minister, says the problems highlighted are felt across the Island.
Here's the exchange in Tynwald, where he outlined Manx Utilities ongoing work on flood risk management:
Sailings altered as 'ongoing dredging issues' lead to 'insufficient water depths in Douglas port'
Manx Care asks all GPs to formally adopt Jess's Rule
Government 'taking rising fuel prices seriously'
Motion to sell Old Castletown Police Station to be put before Tynwald
