Floods, digital exclusion and domestic abuse bill on Keys agenda

House to sit for the first time since summer recess

The Laxey floods, off-road motorcycling and digital exclusion are among the issues being raised at this week's sitting of the House of Keys.

It's the first time Keys has sat since the summer recess.

Chief Minister Howard Quayle will be asked how many people have applied for emergency funding following the recent flooding on Glen Road, while Garff MHK Daphne Caine queries the frequency of drain and gully clearing.

She'll also ask about the work that was being undertaken on the river when the heavy rain hit the Island.

Technology will feature as Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse raises the subject of digital exclusion, along with progress on the airport technology gateway.

Damage caused by offroad vehicles, NHS medicine supplies and the Manx Electric Railway are among the other matters to be raised.

A number of bills are subject to action, including the first reading of the domestic abuse bill and the second reading of the sexual offences and obscene publications bill.

Manx Radio's coverage of this week's sitting gets underway at 10am on our AM 1368 frequency, at ManxRadio.com or via the smartphone apps.
