Evening still planned to go ahead
This afternoon's contingency qualifying session at the Festival of Motorcycling has been cancelled, organisers have confirmed.
Once again, the weather has prevented Classic TT and Manx Grand Prix competitors from getting out onto the Mountain Course, as it has done for most of the week so far.
Clerk of the Course Gary Thompson gave Manx Radio this update just after the announcement:
This evening's session, as it stands, is due to go ahead.
There will also, weather permitting, be an afternoon session tomorrow.
Roads around the Mountain Course will therefore remain open this afternoon, and are scheduled to shut at 6pm for this evening's session.
Meanwhile, Noble's Park Car Park is currently closed due to the rain.
It's hoped the facility will be reopened later today, though, when conditions improve.
