
Tributes have been paid to southern football player Andy Cadwallader who collapsed and died during a match yesterday.
The 49-year old was taken ill while playing for Castletown at the end of the club's Combination league match against Union Mills at Castletown Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Mr Cadwallader was treated by a first-aider and a community first responder before an ambulance arrived, but could not be revived.
He'd recently begun playing for the club having previously spent many years at neighbouring Ronaldsway.
Team mate and Castletown FC committee member Patty Quinney was on the pitch when the tragedy happened.
