Heart attack killed 26 year-old
An inquest has found that an Island footballer's death last year was linked to drug use.
Corinthians' captain Louis Thornton was found dead at a hotel in Liverpool on September 16, after enjoying a night out with friends.
The Liverpool and Wirral Coroner's Court heard he had cocaine and high levels of alcohol in his system at the time.
The 26 year-old's cause of death was concluded to be an acute heart attack, 'more likely than not' induced by the Class A substance.
Tributes were paid at the time to a 'big character' and lifelong Middlesbrough FC fan, who'd represented the Island team, as well as leading his club.
