Thomas will ask Tynwald to support his idea
A Douglas Central MHK is calling for a ‘strategic reset’ of the Sea Services Agreement.
Chris Thomas has put forward a Tynwald motion asking for the agreement - between The Department of Infrastructure and the Steam Packet Company – to be considered.

The current SSA was approved by Tynwald in 2019.
It requires the Steam Packet to keep the Ben-my-Chree but the DoI is currently considering a request to see this replaced by the MV Arrow.
The former infrastructure minister told Manx Radio he’s not sure the Steam Packet can meet the requirements it agreement sets out:
CoMin making 'significant and determined efforts' to implement recommendations from Ranson review
Rain events 'difficult to forecast' on the Isle of Man
Planning permission granted for 26 industrial units
Port St Mary Commissioners urging residents not to 'struggle in silence'
