She lived in numerous parts of the Island during her lifetime
Former Malew Commissioner and member of the Board of Governors at Castle Rushen High School, Margaret Mansfield has died after a short illness.
Mrs Mansfield, of Ballakilley, Port Erin was born and brought up on the Isle of Man, after University in the UK worked for the Saatchi and Saatchi Advertising Agency in London before moving on to teach Latin, Greek and Modern Languages.
After her return to the Island she became well-known as an enthusiastic and successful fundraiser for charities including the ManxSPCA.
Mrs Mansfield lived in different parts of the Island during her lifetime including Laxey, Douglas, Castletown and Port Erin.
It was in the South that she was best known as a Governor of Castle Rushen High School and a Malew Commissioner.
The Board of Governors at Castle Rushen has expressed deep sorrow at her passing describing her as a 'dedicated and passionate governor who brought a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to the role.'
A private cremation will take place at her request.
