Former MHK - public want assisted dying introduced

Political decisions don't reflect people's views, says Quintin Gill

A former MHK says he doesn't believe recent political decisions represent changing public opinion on the issue of assisted dying.

Recent debates, both in the House of Commons and the House of Keys, roundly rejected the idea.

Around a decade ago Quintin Gill tried unsuccessfully to bring forward a private members bill which sought to introduce the concept, and if approved the practice, of assisted dying on the Island.

He says despite the recent decisions he still believes more and more members of the public would like to see the move happen:
