Former treasury minister questions 'value for money'

Teare offers opinion on new Budget

A former treasury minister has given his assessment of the 2024 Budget.

Eddie Teare held the position from 2011, until he left politics in 2016, having served as both education and health minister before that.

He was in the Tynwald chamber yesterday (20 February) to hear current minister Alex Allinson deliver his financial plan for the next year.

Mr Teare told Manx Radio it appears this administration is finding it too easy to raise taxes and too difficult to cut expenses, one of those being the government's headcount:
