It will have information about the villages mining history
Foxdale Heritage is looking for planning permission to erect an 'interpretation' sign in a field.
The group wants to put it on a privately owned field and says the landowner is supportive of the charity's initiative and has offered to help install it.
The proposed sign would be one of ten around the village and will have information about the social and architectural history with 'particular reference' to Foxdale's mining past.
Another sign could also be installed in the same field, at the railway station heritage centre and the church.
The application is currently pending consideration.
