Foxdale man in court after hiding stun gun in home

Twenty-year-old will appear again later this year

A man who hid a stun gun in a hidden compartment in his home will appear in court again later this year.

Twenty-year-old Blayne Mason Quinn of Archallagan Terrace in Foxdale appeared before magistrates at Douglas courthouse.

He admitted one count of possessing a prohibited weapon.

Prosecution advocate Rachel Braidwood told the hearing police carried out a drugs raid at Quinn’s home just after 7am on 5 May.

The court heard although no drugs were found, officers unearthed the black stun gun in a hidden chamber inside a chest of drawers in his bedroom.

Later that day, police with special training tested the weapon and found it was in working order.

Quinn was arrested and interviewed at police headquarters, but answered “no comment” to all questions put to him by officers.

He was bailed in the sum of £500, and is next due in court on 17 June.
