Fuel poverty 'a concern' for Treasury

Peake says government wants to help

An MHK says more than 2,000 pensioners and out-of-work individuals are 'very grateful' to receive help with their heating bills.

Treasury spends almost three quarters of a million pounds per year on the Winter Bonus payments, typically of around £300.

The lump sum is automatically issued to qualifying residents.

It comes as Treasury continues to review the high cost of home gas heating on the Isle of Man.
