Fuel poverty problems exposed

Island lower than UK, offset by higher incomes

Levels of fuel poverty in the Island are generally lower than in the United Kingdom, according to new figures.

However, higher incomes and local benefits offset higher fuel costs.

Policy and Reform Minister John Shimmin says over the next 12 months they want to offer extra support for the most vulnerable, especially the elderly and disabled.
