Further inquiries into tragic death of Tanya

Police inquiries are continuing into the death of Island teenager Tanya Jade Dentith.

The 18-year old was found in her car on Saturday evening (18 May) on rural land near the motocross track at Ballagarraghyn, Jurby.

Her death is not being treated as suspicious.

Police want to establish Tanya’s exact movements between 9.15pm last Friday (May 17) when she was last seen in the Prospect Terrace area of Douglas, and 6.30pm the following evening when she was discovered at Ballagarraghyn.

DS Neil Craig is appealing to anyone who remembers having seen Tanya, who was wearing an orange hooded top, blue skinny jeans and orange shoes with white laces, or her vehicle, a light blue Peugeot 206 registration number JMN-590-M, between these times to get in touch with him at police headquarters on 631212.

Tanya is described by her family as having been a well-liked girl who was always smiling. She was a keen motocross enthusiast known within the local motocross fraternity as 'Baby T' and also had the distinction of being the club champion last year.

DS Craig has moved to dampen local speculation about the circumstances surrounding Tanya’s death, which he says is incorrect

He asks consideration be given as to the impact comments may have on Tanya’s friends and family at a very difficult time.
