Operating theatre won't close says minister
Ramsey Cottage Hospital's future is secure, but changes to the services provided can't be ruled out - that's according to Health Minister Kate Beercroft.
She's assured public the facility's operating theatre won't close, despite both the Hospital's League of Friends and some MHKs claiming the opposite.
Mrs Beecroft explained endoscopy equipment and staff are moving to a new, purpose-built facility at Noble's from RCH on 22 May to 'consolidate' the service.
The reasons given for the change are to improve patient care and safety by reducing endoscopy waiting times.
The health minister says the department is reviewing how to bring some services, split between different sites, together.
