Garage fight trio admit offences

Sentencing due in November

Three Douglas residents who fought in a petrol station in the town have admitted offences relating to the incident.

Twenty-three-year-old Lee Paul Dodd, of Oak Avenue, and his girlfriend, 22-year-old Rachel Elizabeth Hall, of Samuel Webb Crescent, both pleaded guilty to affray when they appeared at Douglas courthouse today.

Twenty-year-old Leah Dale, of Woodbourne Road, admitted provoking behaviour, and possession of mirtazapine and a small amount of cannabis.

The incident happened in the shop at the Ellan Vannin Fuels garage on Peel Road around 3am on Thursday, 23 August.

The fight started following a verbal altercation between the two women, which escalated into a physical one and saw Hall kick Dale in the stomach.

Hall's boyfriend, Dodd, had become involved, as had another man, Robbie Edward Stephen Williams.

Dodd ended up punching Mr Williams repeatedly and throwing him into shelving in the shop, resulting in £350-worth of damage.

Dodd disputes some of the facts put forward by the prosecution, so a Newton hearing will be held next month.

Dale, Dodd and Hall are all due to be sentenced on Tuesday, 13 November, and have been bailed in the meantime.
