Local authority is starting a three-month trial to try and solve dog poo problem

Garff Commissioners is set to trial its dog warden scheme in the next few weeks in a bid to combat the dog mess problem across the parish.

Commissioner Julie Pinson says that the bylaws are still in place and people may still be fined, but the local authority is hoping to take a 'soft approach' first.

The trial will last for three months, and the warden will be acting as a 'preventative' measure which will include stopping and talking to people and explaining the bylaws whilst out and about.

Mrs Pinson adds that dog poo has been one of the biggest issues residents ask about since she joined the board 15 years ago.
