
German Commissioners say they will keep their general rates at 70p in the pound for the next financial year.
During their last meeting the running of the Western Civic Amenity site was also reviewed and Commissioners say since last summer an overall budget reduction of 20% has been achieved by the restructuring of how the site is staffed and run.
However, the separate annual refuse charge for domestic properties which covers the cost of the bin collection will have to increase to reflect the increased disposal charges levied at the Energy for Waste Plant.
Accordingly the current charge per dwelling per annum of £85 will increase to £95 and the refuse rate will increase 2 pence to 46 pence in the pound.
The Commissioners say they will continue working to reduce the impact of additional central government costs being passed onto the rate payers.
