Enterprise Minister believes development will create more jobs
Using taxpayer money to help a private developer build luxury flats in Port Erin would generate a 'positive return on investment', according to the enterprise minister.
Tim Johnston thinks the Island Infrastructure Scheme will create more jobs and higher employment too.
However, he admits current unemployment figures are low and recruitment can be a struggle for the construction industry.
Mr Johnston was asked why a recently released analysis of housing need on the Island makes no reference to 'luxury' flats:
Warning over flare disposal after amenity site fire
Suspended sentence for 56-year-old in cannabis supply case
Owner of a block of flats fined for failing to meet fire safety regulations
