Government confirms holidays for 2026/27 school year

Will run from Thursday 3 September 2026 to Friday 23 July 2027

The Isle of Man Government has confirmed the key dates for the 2026/27 school year on a webpage alongside the previously confirmed dates for 2025/26.

SCHOOL YEAR 2025/26

On Monday 1 and Tuesday 2 September this year, schools will be closed to pupils, but staff will be in for training.

School will start up again for the Island's children on Wednesday 3 September 2025.

October half-term will be Monday 27 October - Friday 31 October 2025.

Christmas holiday will begin on Friday 19 December and kids will be back in on Monday 5 January 2026.

In February, half-term will fall from Monday 16 February 2026 to Friday 20 February 2026, including two staff training days.

Easter holidays will be from Thursday 2 April 2026 to Monday 20 April 2026.

Summer term bank holidays will be Monday 4 May and Monday 25 May 2026.

The TT holiday will be from Tuesday 26 May 2026 to Friday 5 June 2026.

And the holiday for Tynwald Day next year falls on Monday 6 July.

Schools will then close for the summer on Thursday 23 July.

SCHOOL YEAR 2026/27

The Autumn term will then get underway for pupils on Thursday 3 September (after two staff training days on Tuesday 1 and Wednesday 2 September).

October half-term will be Monday 26 October to Friday 30 October 2026.

Schools will then close for Christmas on Tuesday 22 December.

After New Year, kids will head back on Wednesday 6 January 2027.

In February 2027, half-term will fall from Monday 15 February to Friday 19 February, including two staff training days.

Easter holidays will be from Thursday 25 March to Monday 12 April 2027.

The May bank holidays in 2027 will fall on Monday 3 May and Monday 31 May.

The TT holiday in 2027 is slated for Tuesday 1 June to Friday 11 June; and Tynwald Day will fall on the actual bank holiday of Monday 5 July.

Schools will then close for the summer on Friday 23 July 2027.
