Later this month, government will present Tynwald with an 'action plan' aimed at reforming the Island's planning system.
The report, prepared by the Cabinet Office, lays out a series of measures to improve the process for planners, developers, and the public.
A consultation on the issue was completed in January of this year and saw 171 respondents - many of whom called for the planning system to be made simpler, less bureaucratic and for more local control.
It's led to the creation of this new action plan - which proposes the introduction of a community infrastructure levy, to ensure new developments contribute to accompanying wider changes to bring economic, environmental and social benefits.
As well as this a set of 'National policy directives', and improvements to online services are also being tabled.
Chief Minister Howard Quayle says there's public appetite for planning reform, and the Council of Ministers has the political will to make it happen'.
