Plans underway to deliver ultrafast fibre broadband to Island
Government is looking for partners to help the Island become a 'world leader' in telecoms.
Plans to deliver ultrafast fibre broadband to the Island are underway, with Digital Isle of Man in the process of choosing a preferred supplier.
Government aims to make the tech available to more than 99% of island residents as part of its National Telecoms Strategy, which was unanimously approved by Tynwald last year.
By the end of the year, its expected 25% of Island premises will have access to the ultrafast broadband, with hopes this coverage will continue to rise as the five-year plan is rolled out.
