Chief minister gives update in the House of Keys
The chief minister insists government is taking fuel price rises affecting Manx residents seriously.
Alfred Cannan has confirmed the treasury minister will give a further update at next month's sitting of Tynwald.
This week, motorists have seen diesel increase by more than 50p per litre.
Speaking in this morning's sitting of the House of Keys, Mr Cannan confirmed government is following a number of key principles.
These include weekly meetings, establishing an industry monitoring body and protecting the supply of fuel to the Island.
He was responding to a question from Ramsey MHK Lawrie Hooper, who told the House he was keen to hear more before April's Tynwald sitting:
Mr Cannan also responded to an urgent question over the Steam Packet fuel surcharge increases.
While answering a question from Onchan member Rob Callister, the chief minister was heckled by a member of the public, who was ejected from the sitting:
