CoC says focus should be on improving productivity instead
The Isle of Man needs to improve the productivity of its existing workforce rather than focus on ‘hard job numbers’.
That’s what the Chamber of Commerce has told the Economic Policy Review Committee.
President Kristan McDonald says he doesn’t believe government’s target of creating and filling 5,000 new jobs by 2032 has been set correctly.
He's also cast doubt on whether the drive to increase the population, by 15,000 people, is realistic.
He believes it’s time to think differently:
CoMin making 'significant and determined efforts' to implement recommendations from Ranson review
Rain events 'difficult to forecast' on the Isle of Man
Planning permission granted for 26 industrial units
Port St Mary Commissioners urging residents not to 'struggle in silence'
