Gov't looked at Guernsey when asking to postpone events

Chief minister says large events could pose Covid spread

Government advice for all weekend events to be postponed was to prevent any high volume spread of Covid-19.

Chief Minister Howard Quayle says they issued the advice after considering similar situations in other jurisdictions:

It's after two cases of coronavirus have been identified as 'unexplained' indicating some level of community spread.

Another government briefing is taking place at 3pm today.
