Follows approval for voluntary hourly rate
Government says more investigation is needed before it can commit to paying its own staff the Manx Living Wage.
Tynwald last week approved in principle a voluntary hourly rate of £8.61 - that's £1.11 higher than the current minimum wage.
However, it was also revealed more than a hundred staff employed by government are paid below the suggested figure.
Policy and Reform Minister, Chris Thomas, insists it's being looked at as part of ongoing pay reviews - but says inflating pay too soon could have unintended consequences:
Housing, healthcare and overspending some of the concerns ahead of elections
Yellow weather warning for next two high tides
Demolition work on former hotel starts today
