Telephone consultations with remote medical professionals available
Six GP practices on the Isle of Man have signed up to outsource some doctors' appointments.
Manx Care has confirmed it's introducing telephone consultations with qualified remote GPs who will manage patients remotely.
The health body says this will mean quicker access to medical advice, medication reviews and ongoing support without the patient needing to attend in person.
Remote consultations will be delivered by TekiHealth Solutions Limited.
It follows a successful pilot at Ramsey Group Practice.
Patients will continue to contact their GP practice in the normal way; information provided during triage will determine if someone is suitable for the service.
The practices participating are:
- Ramsey Group Practice
- Peel Group Practice
- Kensington Group Practice
- Snaefell Surgery
- Finch Hill Medical Centre
- Palatine Group Practice
Manx Care says additional GP practices may join the service in the future.
