IoM Shipping Association comments on plans
The chair of the Isle of Man Shipping Association says he welcomes an acceptance that Douglas harbour isn't fit for purpose - but has reservations on the proposed way forward.
Mark Robertshaw was commenting after the 2018 Harbours Strategy was passed unanimously by Tynwald recently.
It contains plans for an £11 million cruise liner terminal in Douglas, which is part of an £80 million redevelopment of the capital's harbour.
But Mr Robertshaw says he doesn't believe MHKs had sufficient time to properly consider the information provided to them.
