Crews from three stations called out to assist with Castletown blaze
Crews from three separate fire stations were called out in the early hours of the morning after multiple hay bales were set on fire in a field close to Poulsom Park in Castletown.
Officers from Castletown, Rushen and Douglas were dispatched to the blaze shortly after 1am.
Due to the remote location the officer in charge of the initial attending appliance from Castletown requested an off road appliance from Rushen Station and the Water Bowser from Douglas Station to assist with firefighting operations.
The cause of the fire is believed to be malicious.
Crews were in attendance for approximately three hours.
