Crookall says DoI has come up with a solution for coal tar
Hazardous material, including coal tar, will be buried under the new bypass in Ballasalla.
That’s according to the infrastructure minister who says it represents a way of using the waste for a ‘good purpose’.
Tim Crookall was questioned about where the coal tar, found on site, would be put after a skip load of the material was left by the roadside in Ballabeg for seven months.
He told the House of Keys that situation was a ‘great shame’ but his department now believes it's found a solution.
