Health and Care Services Bill consultation closes today

New bill is designed to consolidate everything into a single piece of legislation

It's the last day to have your say on the major themes that will form the basis of a new Health and Care Services Bill.

A consultation on the four key policy principles - service planning, record sharing, service improvement, and empowering patients - closes at midnight tonight (7 October).

Currently, the delivery of health services is governed by three separate pieces of legislation.

The new Bill aims to consolidate everything into a comprehensive single piece of legislation.

It's being developed in response to a recommendation set out in the Sir Johnathan Michael report of Health and Care Services on the Isle of Man.

The consultation seeks opinions on what should be prioritised when making decisions about health care, whether it be location, accessibility, or value for money.

It also requests views on the sharing of patient records between different services and providers, addressing patient frustrations when receiving treatment from multiple clinics or off-Island providers.

You can have your say via the online consultation hub.
