Men who've had sex with other men can donate in UK, but not on Island
Does the Isle of Man plan to change its blood donation policy for men who've had sex with men?
That's the question Health Minister David Ashford will be asked by Ramsey MHK Dr Alex Allinson in today's sitting of the House of Keys.
The UK recently updated its rules, meaning those who haven't had sex with another man for three months can now be donors, but on the Island the policy is to never accept blood from men who've had sex with a man.
Dr Allinson believes allowing more people to donate blood would benefit the Island's healthcare system:
